Hardware/Software Embedded Systems Engineer

Celestia Portugal (C-Jet Unipessoal, Lda) is part of Celestia Technologies Group (CTG) an international technology group developing solutions for Aerospace, Defence, Telecommunications and Scientific markets. There is a rich pedigree of Product Development in Antenna, RF and Modem design for different Satcom & Terrestrial Systems.
The Celestia team have embarked on a challenging programme to design an innovative PhasedArray Antenna solution for a High Throughput Satellite Megaconstellations. This is a large ESA (European Space Agency) programme with several phases and milestones.
With increasing commitments and anticipated growth, we are now seeking to hire several engineering roles across a broad range of technical domains including Antenna, RF, Signal Processing, Beamforming, Digital design or Real-time Software, respectively.

Baseline Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience: • Knowledge of modern processor architectures and platforms for embedded systems • Experience in developing embedded systems (e.g., FPGA, Systems-on-a-Chip etc.) • Be able to understand the requirements to develop the platform’s firmware and related design tools and flow • Broad expertise in design techniques and verification strategy • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review • Proficient in MS Office tools and competent working on either Windows or Linux • Project management skills, methodical and organized work • Language skills: Portuguese and English (Spanish will be considered a plus) • Good interpersonal skills, positive mindset towards customers and colleagues • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or similar
Embedded/FPGA System Engineer requirements: • Knowledge of digital I/O standards such as SPI, GPIO, LVDS, CAN, I2C, FlexRay, USB • Solid programming skills in low-level programming, C/C++, Python and Shell scripts • Experience designing custom processor PCBs using most common eCAD tools (Altium, Kicad) • Familiarity with the most modern microcontrollers architectures (8/16/32 bits). • Experience in digital system and IP core design using HDL tools (VHDL, Verilog, HLS) • Experience in working with Linux Kernel, BSP generation • Solid programming skills in low-level programming, C/C++, Python and Shell scripts • Experience with SoC-FPGAs is a plus.
Role & Responsibilities: • Design, develop, code, test & debug digital systems. • Validate own designs to demonstrate that they meet its performance requirements. • Proactive and take ownership of own tasks; plan and execute in line with project needs. • Document and disseminate your works in line with project’s expectation. • Availability for short travels abroad (mainly to UK, Spain or Netherlands) • Report to the Technical/Project Manager • Successfully engaging with internal and external stakeholders • Participate in key engineering meetings with the customers. • Supervising and mentoring junior engineers We endeavour to respond quickly to all applications so if interested please submit your CV in English via email with a short introduction to firstname.lastname@example.org
